Kemidata – new exhibition portal for the Danish Environment Portal

In 2024, Globeteam helped the Danish Environmental Portal develop Kemidata – a new and upgraded exhibition portal for environmental studies that replaces the previous Miljødata platform.  

Kemidata presents raw data from environmental surveys in the sea, lakes and streams, which is continuously used in the management of the environment in Denmark and to develop data-supported legislation. The portal is based on data collected by municipalities, regions and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.   

Kemidata makes it easier to perform detailed searches of data on chemical studies, substance parameters and ongoing measurements from across the country and provides access to advanced, calculated data on how water levels and water flow change throughout the year. Users can limit and filter data by geographical area, type of study and chemical parameters.  

The portal offers an intuitive user interface where filters are quickly visualised on a map, making it easy to get an overview of the desired data and export the results as CSV files. In addition, the structure and design of Kemidata is adapted to other exhibition platforms, ensuring a consistent user experience across the Danish Environmental Portal’s solutions.  

Available to everyone, Kemidata provides public institutions, researchers and environmental consultants with easy access to comprehensive datasets that can be used to monitor environmental conditions, ensure regulatory compliance, analyse water quality over time and advise on environmental protection in projects.   

Globeteam has delivered the UX work in connection with the design of the new, user-friendly and modern platform. We have done all development guided by our Danish senior architecture and carried out with our Offshore Development Centre in Vietnam. In addition, we have helped conduct user testing and coordinated an overall roll-out and decommissioning of the previous system.  

Chemistry data not only supports better environmental planning, but also helps promote sustainable development through technological innovation and data-driven insights.
